My first day was everything I hoped it would be; I hoped for very little and got it in heaps. I was plonked down at a desk surrounded by insurance sales people and they spent the day chasing up leads, repeating their boring patter over and over again until I wanted to set fire to my ears. My exciting job was to organise the leads, I was given twenty minutes training and then left alone all day to just get on with the most boring job in the entire universe.
Everyone said hello to me when they were initially presented with my nervous bulk but then I was ignored for the rest of the day. At one point I heard someone on the phone refer to me as 'the temp' which made me feel great and I have high hopes for a wonderful time on this 'ongoing assignment'.
